    The Art of Pour Over Coffee

    Mastering the Pour Over Technique

    Pour over coffee is one of the purest ways to experience the flavors of specialty coffee. At Kaapikreat, we're passionate about sharing our knowledge with fellow coffee enthusiasts.

    What You'll Need

    Equipment:

    Pour over dripper (V60, Chemex, or Kalita Wave)
    Paper or metal filter
    Gooseneck kettle
    Digital scale
    Timer
    Fresh coffee beans
    Burr grinder

    The Perfect Pour Over Method

    Step 1: Prepare Your Water

    Heat water to 90-96°C (194-205°F). Freshly boiled water that's rested for 30 seconds works perfectly.

    Step 2: Grind Your Beans

    Use a medium-fine grind, similar to sea salt. For a 12oz cup, use about 21g of coffee.

    Step 3: Rinse the Filter

    Pour hot water through the filter to remove paper taste and preheat your vessel.

    Step 4: The Bloom

    Add coffee grounds, then pour twice the weight of water (42g) in circles. Wait 30-45 seconds as gases escape.

    Step 5: The Pour

    Slowly pour in concentric circles, maintaining a steady stream. Total brew time should be 2:30-3:30.
