The Perfect Pour Over Method
Step 1: Prepare Your Water
Heat water to 90-96°C (194-205°F). Freshly boiled water that's rested for 30 seconds works perfectly.
Step 2: Grind Your Beans
Use a medium-fine grind, similar to sea salt. For a 12oz cup, use about 21g of coffee.
Step 3: Rinse the Filter
Pour hot water through the filter to remove paper taste and preheat your vessel.
Step 4: The Bloom
Add coffee grounds, then pour twice the weight of water (42g) in circles. Wait 30-45 seconds as gases escape.
Step 5: The Pour
Slowly pour in concentric circles, maintaining a steady stream. Total brew time should be 2:30-3:30.
